Dr. Barbara Frelinger

Today, July 23, 2009, marks the 25th anniversary for Dr. Frelinger practicing at Twelve Corners Pediatrics.  Over those years she has enjoyed seeing the children grow up and come back as adults with their own children.  Congratulations Dr. Frelinger!

SWINE FLU

Information about the SWINE FLU has been everywhere in the news lately.  The physicians at Twelve Corners Pediatrics are committed to bringing news to you that you would like to know, news that we agree with and feel that our patients would be interested in.  Here is a link to quality information regarding THE SWINE FLU.

Eight Less Shots!

Twelve Corners Pediatrics is pleased to announce the addition of a new vaccine, Pentacel, to our routine immunization schedule.  Pentacel will allow us to fully vaccinate children while requiring eight less injections than were previously necessary.  Pentacel has been safely used in Canada for the past 10 years.  To see how this new vaccine fits into your child’s immunization schedule, click on immunization schedule.

Urgent Care and After Hours

We have been noticing a concerning trend lately - more families are utilizing the "urgent care" or "after hours" clinics.  We do not feel that these clinics provide pediatric-oriented care.  For example, often their dosages or choice of medication are not the current standard of care.  Also, this fragmentation of medical care can lead to confusion and misdiagnosis.  We would like to remind everyone that we are available 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.  We have Saturday morning hours, walk-in hours every weekday morning, same-day appointments everyday, and the on-call physician sees patients on Sundays and holidays.    We know your children and they know know us.  Please call us first!
